FAQ

Viewing distance and image resolution

All images should be saved full size, and must have the appropriate resolution for viewing distance, to avoid a pixilated appearance.

As a general rule use these guidelines for saving files.

Image Print size Typical Viewing Distance Resolution at Final size
0 - 12 inches  6 to 24 inches  300 dpi
24 - 48 inches  3' to 6 ft. 150 dpi
5 ft. - 20+ ft.  10 to 50+ ft. 100 dpi

Copying an image from a web page typically will not be acceptable for an enlarged print, as these images have been shrunk for viewing on a monitor, and will be very pixilated.
